Announcements
I am available every day, and I usually respond within 24 hours. I will be on vacation from September 22 to October 6. I am very sorry for the inconvenience.
Hobbies/Travel
I enjoy reading (especially Harry Potter and Haruki Murakami), writing (fiction as well as academic papers), playing piano, playing video games (especially Japanese RPGs), and studying the Japanese language. My favorite country that I have visited is Japan! There are so many amazing things to see in your country!
Message from the instructor
I will be happy to help you produce clear, accurate English compositions while giving you additional information on how English works. I appreciate how difficult it must be for Japanese speakers to learn English, and so I will try my best to help you learn the language's complexities. I pay very close attention to details. In particular, I am sensitive to small nuances in meaning. I have studied some Japanese (although I am still a beginner), so I have an idea how different the two languages are. As a result, I can sometimes see what the original intention was according to Japanese grammar, and I can try to find a natural English equivalent. I am available to correct texts any day. I will be able to correct the text within 24 hours.

Thank you for your super fast edtion. I am sorry that I have confused you with water bathtubs. I just translated what we call it in Japanese literally in English. What I mesn by Water bathtubs is cold bathtubs. Usally the water in bathtubs is hot but in what we call water bathtubs the water is as cold as the drinking water ( not heated). I hope you understand my explanation.

Hello Teacher David, Thank you for your corrections and many paraphrastic expressions! It's first time to see the expression "Last but not least." It was a great learning opportunity. Thanks for everything! Yuki-02

Dear David, Thank you for the correction and sorry for the late reply. I'm happy you liked the long noun phrase "black-and-white friend" and that you found it as impressive while I was not confident about this expression. I also appreciate for all alternative ideas and phrases. Especially, I liked the phrase "I had trouble communicating with my parents, but never with her." that beautifully represents what I wanted to express. And about articles and past perfect! You cleared my unresolved questions that have been obscure to me for a long time. Regarding articles, I may still have difficulties, but for past perfect, I may work better thanks to your advice. Thank you for answering to my question of usage of "experience". I wanted to say the machine model has a stable and long operational history and is pleased by many customers. I will try to find a better word / expression. Thank you so much! I will ask you again for the correction and advice. Best regards, Asouka

Thank you very much for your corrections, comments and reply for my question. I’m a bit surprised that both the present perfect and the past perfect sound good for you in that sentence. I understood that I don’t need to worry too much about such tenses. I hope my understanding is correct. I’ll use the present perfect tense for that sentence next time. Thank you very much again and best regards, Isabel

l really appreciate you, teacher David! You are the only teacher l've ever met on IDIY who mentioned the "good parts" in my sentences. l just learned it is also very useful to know it. Because l always use dictionary again and again before my diary entory, but when a teacher kindly suggests other ways to say per my request, l am not sure if my choice of words was good or not. I've just noticed that my request of drastic change has blind spot.. :0 I like the words you gave me "motto" and " whatever suit me",thank you so much! I really enjoyed working with you and see you soon :) moet
