About the sentence; "volunteers get to meet people from diverse backgrounds whom they might haven't met otherwise, and get to work together." When I talked to a person who had served in military service (forgot which country in Asia), he told me it was different from being in a university or a company, because he had worked with people from different social class. But that could be just one personal experience. I've actually never been to military service (and perhaps never will), but I might have more chances to meet people who've experienced and hear different stories. :) Thank you, Charcoal
