I think the fumie, which is judging if they were converted to christianity or not, was only done in Nagasaki. I have traveled Goto islands of Nagasaki, where the location of Scorcese's Silence based on Endo Shusaku's novel and where there were many kakure Kirisitan. Kakure kirisitan and hidden Christianity is a same meaning I guess. Since they were said " hidden", where they lived is not easy to visit. Incredible thing is that the church they made after lifting the ban to believe in christianity is still remain there for more than 150 years. And that was built Japanese method. Because no one knows how to build churches properly. Those look church but structure is shrine. This is the same as the church I saw at southern Spain. Grand floor was a mosque but second floor is church. The reason behind this is that muslim people ware on the way to build a mosque as that was a muslim region but was suddenly invaded by christianity. Best regards

Thank you for your useful corrections. I meant kind of "too nervous" by writing "too sensitive". I would be wrong. Your writing "too harsh" would hit what I wanted to say. Best regards.

Thank you for the correction. Since my sentence is not good enough, I found your misunderstnading. Although you wrote " she stood up..."yestreday, Senko was a MAN. The point of this novel is to describe seldom relationship between a man and a man. Although I usually write a standard love story, this novel is expection. Japan's prestigious novel from long time ago were sometimes describing this relationship. Because I can describe only feeling in mind without any diplomacy of love. Of course, I cannot say positive or negative or even I am that sort of man. Just good novels exist between a love of the opposing sex and the same sex. This novel, or historical novel, is far away from reality. Did you understand my explanation? By the way, did you apply to my FB?

Hi, thank you very much for your detailed feedback as always. I am glad that I made only minor mistakes this time. Actually, I am on a train to go to my parents’ house. I will stay there for three days as my husband is too busy with his work and it is getting difficult for him to help me with taking care of my baby. It is first time for me to get on a train with my baby girl, but it is easier than I thought.

Thank you for the correction. But I don't understand difference "suicide" and "ritual suicide". Of course, Hideyoshi ordered two Portuguese's missionaries to death because he denied christianity despite some shogun had already joined catholic. He was frightened people would look toward christianity. I think the ruler you watched on the film was a man of region branch under Hideyoshi. Today's text is the last of Hanaikusa. Best regards

Thank you for your detailed feedback as always. Wrapping up the mistake I made is also helpful. I can be more careful not to make the same kind of mistakes. Yes, it was true that some of the masks that the government distributed were not good quality.

Thank you for your message. Yes, I have seen the film" Silence". the fame of Endo Shusaku is not only because of being outstanding novelist but also being christianity. Because the percentage of christianity has not exceeded over 1% from its arrival to Japan until now, the way of thinking from christianity is very rare and esteemed. No, that ruler in the film was not Hideyoshi. First, his death was 1598 because of illness. So it is supposed he was in his castle to be looked after. Second, Nagasaki, the stage of the film, is too far to visit. It may took more than ten days to go and back. It is impossible to have castle empty for those days. Although the impact of the story of Silent was heavy to christianity, for the Japan's political leaders, what the two missionaries had done was worthless incident. But the fact is that Hideyoshi declared to ban catholic in 1597. Best regards

the first question that means that inquiring the state of person. In short, questioning what you really think in mind. the last question Sennorikyu could apologize Toyotomi and if he did so, he could survive. But Sennorikyu could not. Sennorikyu was so loved other warriors and, since he had no confidence that he ruled Japan. So Toyotomi was absolutely scared because if Sennorikyu prefered, he could gather and became rebel. Furthermore, Toyotomi felt that Sennorikyu could not Toyotomi's sense of beauty. Because Toyotomi liked decorative ceremony, but on the other hand, Sennorikyu prefered plain and simple ceremony. He chosen die an honorable death. Sorry my sentence might confuse you.
