In addition, drivers have to load and unload parcels by themselves. To avoid traffic congestion, many drivers drive their trucks at night after 8 p.m. or early in the morning around 4 a.m. Many drivers naturally end up working night shifts or early morning shifts, resulting in suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes that may cause stroke and heart attacks. I think that the Japanese government should make a law to raise their minimal annual income so that drivers will take more day off to promote a good health. Currently, due to their low salary, many of them are forced to work long hours to compensate for their low wages. It is said that drivers work about 10 hours a day, and it is normal for drivers to work 2 to 3 hours of overtime each day.
