But, GHQ is almost same as the allied supreme commander, Douglas MacArthur. Far from reconstructing Japan's aftermath, he didn't even think of it. He wanted Japan to stay weak in order not to oppose against the US again. Yet, it is ironic that the cold war already started between the US and Russia and the proxy war was about to begin at Korean peninsula.MacArthur knew better than to do nothing. Since he wanted to have Japan being shield, GHQ had to help that Japan become strong enough to help the forthcoming Korean war. It was also ironic that since the Korean war truly started in 1950 and Japan received plenty of orders from UN for the war tools excluding weapons, Japan could escape from the one of the poorest country.
