Teacher Ellie_P Thank you for being so considerate that you pay attention to Japan. Everybody are surprised at sudden subsequent airplane crash at Tokyo Haneda airport. No one can imagine such tragedy happened on just the next day of the serious earthquake. According to TV news broadcast, a jumbo airplane were going to land on runway with 367 passengers. At the same time, a Japan coast guard middle size airplane, which were planned to transport emergency aids for the victims of the earthquake to our prefecture, were entering on the same runway. Airport control center instructed the coast guard airplane to stop at a stop-line before the runway. Despite the instruction, the official airplane entered in the runway, then the jumbo airplane hit the airplane. Flight recorder replicated that pilot of the official airplane may misunderstand the instruction unfortunately. As a result of these two disasters, there is any more happy atmosphere of the New Year in Japan. These incidents remind citizens of the thing that Japan is a land of disasters. More countermeasures to prevent natural disasters and human errors are necessary to stop such crucial dangers. Best regards, 5971mak

Teacher Ellie_P Thank you for your kind wards for the current circumstance in our prefecture. After earthquake trembles have been continuing even now and authority expects that minor earthquakes need around a week to end. The Japanese government designated this eqrthquake as serious natural disaster, resulting in allocating emergency budget for emergency treatments. Local governments open evacuation centers to accept residents escaping from damaged areas. A lack of English proficiency is now a serious issue for Japanese young employees because companies frequently order them to go abroad to work in their foreign branches and factories. However, due to a lack of communication skill in english, many of them feel stressed and have difficulty continuing their tasks abroad. Considering their looming difficulties ahead of their future, the government should have strong leadership to raise English proficiency for students. Best regards, 5971mak

Thank you, as always. Unfortunately, X became a platform for the dissemination that this earthquake was artificially caused, etc. In 2011, Twitter was so helpful.

Teacher Ellie_P First, thank you for your thoughtfulness regrading the earthquake in our place. Our place didn't have victims but Wajima city, which is northern part of my prefecture, had a dozen of victims due to collapse of their houses. The number is anticipated to increase more unfortunately. Moreover, roads in my prefecture are damaged in many places. I avoid driving my vehicle to prevent accicents come from cracks of roads and a lot of cave-in roads. As my house is a flat house, I am not afraid of its collapse. So I will stay in my house for a week until local governments implement temporary measures. After authority will annouce that the current danger is mitigated, I will resume going out. Second, a current social norm is so pervasive that gender roles are still regarded as a social standard in Japan. As I have been keeping gender equality at home since 30 years ago, my colleagues, my relatives, and my friends thought my behavior is odd at some degree. Still such traditional custom is common, but the Japanese government should tackle changing this tradition to break the vicious cycle. The government should legislate obligation of doing household chores for everybody regardless of gender. Schools and teachers should instill students to have such new social norm for the future. Thank you for corrections that are helpful for me. Best regards, 5971mak

Teacher Ellie_P Thank you for your quick correction despite the New Year vacation. Yesterday, it was sad that a strong earthquake hit our place suddenly. https://japantoday.com/category/national/update6-m7.6-quake-rocks-central-japan-killing-4-triggering-tsunami I live in a suburb in the prefecture that severely trembled. A happy New Year atmosphere was immediatele evapolated and people here are nervous and cautious for next quake. Luckily, my family and I were not injured. I hope that no more earthquake. Teacher Ellie_P I meant that 'collateral influence' is 'additional influence'. I should have used latter word. Recently, more girls hope and enroll colleges and universities, resulting in more tuition for their advanced universities. Despite of their investment, women are struggling to get high-paying professions. I think that governments should raise flexibility of working conditions so that more female workers will be able to produce benefits to society. Investments for their tuitions should be rewarded to raise prosperous society. Thank you for corrections that are helpful to me. Best regards, 5971mak
