グラフ・図表課題とは、出題されるグラフやプロセス図、表などから得られる情報を細かく読み取り、英語で説明する課題です。

この課題では、視覚的データをただ言葉に置き換えるのではなく、全体の傾向・特徴・比較変化を的確に捉え、読み手にわかりやすく伝える力が求められます。

そのため、この課題を通じて、IELTS Task1の対策のみならず、英検、TOEFLなどの試験対策、ビジネスや研究、留学にも役立つ、「英語で「説明・分析・要約」する力」を総合的に養うことができます。

2. What are the overall patterns among the four nationalities? Which activities did each nationality prefer?
3. How much time did French and German tourists spend on shopping, eating, and sports? Which was their top activity?
4. How did Italian tourists spend their time on the three activities? Which one was their favorite?
5. How did Spanish tourists spend their time? Which activity stood out for them?

練習前: What’s shown is average daily hours by French, German, Italian and Spanish tourists in Thailand on eating local food, shopping and outdoor sports. It looks like Germans shopped the most, 6 hours. Italians spent 5 hours eating local food. Spanish tourists did the most sports, at 6 hours, while the French did only 2. The French liked shopping, at 5 hours. Germans did 3 hours for eating and sports; Italians 3 and 4.
練習後: The bar chart illustrates the average daily hours spent by French, German, Italian, and Spanish tourists on three leisure activities, eating local food, shopping, and outdoor sports, during their holidays in Thailand in July 2023.

Overall, the data highlight clear differences among the four nationalities. French and German visitors devoted the most time to shopping, while Italians preferred eating and Spaniards were most interested in outdoor sports.

French tourists spent 5 hours shopping, making it their main activity, followed by 4 hours eating local food and only 2 hours on sports. Germans also placed shopping first, at 6 hours, but they spent less time eating, at 3 hours, and slightly more on sports, also 3 hours.

By contrast, Italians devoted 5 hours to eating, making it their top activity. Their time for shopping and sports was fairly balanced, at 3 and 4 hours. Spanish tourists stood out for their preference for outdoor sports, which occupied 6 hours daily—the highest figure overall—while they spent 4 hours shopping and just 2 hours eating.（173単語）
