Certifications
I am a native English speaker. I have taught the English language for many years. I have a Diploma In Proofreading and Editing and a Bachelor of Business Studies Degree. I have also learned several foreign languages myself so I do understand the processes involved with learning a new language.
Announcements
English is an extremely enjoyable and rewarding language to learn. It can also be challenging. However, I provide easy-to-understand instructions so that a student can get a good understanding of the English language. I like to provide lots of examples of different grammatical concepts so that students can see the way we use different words and phrases in sentences. I am a very friendly person, and I look forward to helping people improve their skills so that they can become more confident in their ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
Hobbies/Travel
I have many interests and hobbies. I really like animals. I also really enjoy music and I play the flute. I am very keen on reading, especially novels and non-fiction books about history. I also like to cook and I find baking lots of fun. I have done some overseas travel. I have been to Australia quite a few times and once I visited the Cook Islands. I am really interested in learning other languages. One of the other languages that I have studied is Japanese. I really enjoyed it. It is so good to be able to communicate with people from other countries. I am a very friendly person and I do like to talk with people and help them when they are in need.
Message from the instructor
I am a native English speaker and I have also spent time learning several foreign languages. I do understand the necessary steps that are involved with learning a language. I like to help people understand more about the English language. In order to become more confident in reading, writing, and speaking in English, it is necessary for each individual to gain a good appreciation of grammatical rules. It is also important to understand the most natural way to express thoughts and intentions in English. I will provide informative corrections to help build understanding and confidence and maximize potential and language fluency.

Dear NicolaJH, It has been a while since I wrote this piece of writing. I have experienced the busiest time at work for a month, and I could hardly find the time to study English... I'm looking forward to sending you more of my writing in the near future. Have a nice evening. Sincerely, nmkh

Dear NicolaJH, Thank you for your correction and useful advice! I've learned a lot from your teaching, for example, the difference between "will" and"intention". For me, prepositions and articles are hard parts of English grammar. I'll continue to learn. Thank you again! Best regards, nekohige33

Dear NicolaJH sensei, Thank you very much for your corrections! I will try to use the expression which you used here like "in order to, how to, help A to B " ! I am happy to know that you had a nice dinner with your family! I send present and sweets for my father, too. Japanese children draw a pictures of their father at the kindergarten, and write letters to their father at the elementary school. It is excellent that you learned Kanji! about 5,0000 Kanji are on the Japanese dictionary but it is said that we can live normal lives with knowing only 3000-4000 Kanji generally. Thank you again! Best wishes, Hitomi
