Certifications
I am a native English speaker. I have taught the English language for many years. I have a Diploma In Proofreading and Editing and a Bachelor of Business Studies Degree. I have also learned several foreign languages myself so I do understand the processes involved with learning a new language.
Announcements
English is an extremely enjoyable and rewarding language to learn. It can also be challenging. However, I provide easy-to-understand instructions so that a student can get a good understanding of the English language. I like to provide lots of examples of different grammatical concepts so that students can see the way we use different words and phrases in sentences. I am a very friendly person, and I look forward to helping people improve their skills so that they can become more confident in their ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
Hobbies/Travel
I have many interests and hobbies. I really like animals. I also really enjoy music and I play the flute. I am very keen on reading, especially novels and non-fiction books about history. I also like to cook and I find baking lots of fun. I have done some overseas travel. I have been to Australia quite a few times and once I visited the Cook Islands. I am really interested in learning other languages. One of the other languages that I have studied is Japanese. I really enjoyed it. It is so good to be able to communicate with people from other countries. I am a very friendly person and I do like to talk with people and help them when they are in need.

Hi NicolaJH, How are you today? I am pretty good because we are going back Japan tomorrow to see our family and friends and have regularly health inspection. Some expressions you corrected were understandable to me when listening or reading but I could not help making the most of them while writing so your comments regarding my writing were very helpful as usual. Thank you as always.

Hello, NicolaJH How are you doing? Thank you for the amendments you made on my essay, and your nice comment encouraged me a lot. as for the word "lightning", I know that it's not a good excuse, but actually PC spelling checking system didn't tell me the mistake ( red dots underlined). Interestingly I found three similar spelling words, "lightning", "lightening", and "lighting." All of them are right words, but they make me confused. In the last sentence, I wrote "have" instead of "has". I made such an easy mistake again. I should have double- checked the sentence. Anyway, which to use " a" or "the" is my forever problem. I wish someday I understand. Hoping to see you soon again. Yoko
