Certifications
I am a native English speaker. I have taught the English language for many years. I have a Diploma In Proofreading and Editing and a Bachelor of Business Studies Degree. I have also learned several foreign languages myself so I do understand the processes involved with learning a new language.
Announcements
English is an extremely enjoyable and rewarding language to learn. It can also be challenging. However, I provide easy-to-understand instructions so that a student can get a good understanding of the English language. I like to provide lots of examples of different grammatical concepts so that students can see the way we use different words and phrases in sentences. I am a very friendly person, and I look forward to helping people improve their skills so that they can become more confident in their ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
Hobbies/Travel
I have many interests and hobbies. I really like animals. I also really enjoy music and I play the flute. I am very keen on reading, especially novels and non-fiction books about history. I also like to cook and I find baking lots of fun. I have done some overseas travel. I have been to Australia quite a few times and once I visited the Cook Islands. I am really interested in learning other languages. One of the other languages that I have studied is Japanese. I really enjoyed it. It is so good to be able to communicate with people from other countries. I am a very friendly person and I do like to talk with people and help them when they are in need.
Message from the instructor
I am a native English speaker and I have also spent time learning several foreign languages. I do understand the necessary steps that are involved with learning a language. I like to help people understand more about the English language. In order to become more confident in reading, writing, and speaking in English, it is necessary for each individual to gain a good appreciation of grammatical rules. It is also important to understand the most natural way to express thoughts and intentions in English. I will provide informative corrections to help build understanding and confidence and maximize potential and language fluency.

Dear NicolaJH sensei, Thank you very much for your revise. My writing became dramatically better thanks to you. I learned new expressions. There has been a decrease in the number of coronavirus cases here too. People still have to wear masks outside, but I take off the mask when nobody is near me. I am glad to hear that the weather is getting milder at your place! Please take care and have a nice day tomorrow! Best wishes, Hitomi

Dear Nicola JH sensei, Thank you so much for you corrections. I thought that I need to use present perfect tense properly. I will practice it more! I agree that people try to think of new ways to do various things in order to remain at a distance from one another. I think teleworking is really nice. Please take care and have a wonderful evening. Dear Ms.Nicola, I hope you are well. Thank you very much for teaching me your invaluable lesson. Your explanation was very clear and detailed with useful example sentences and you pointed out many small errors I didn't even notice. In fact, I didn't feel uncomfortable at all when I wrote 'the theme is about~' probably because I still can't help but think in the way I speak or write in Japanese--yes, we do say 'the theme is about~' in Japanese. I really appreciate your help, and I look forward to taking your wonderful lesson again. Best regards, Hitoshimo
