Certifications
I am a native English speaker. I have taught the English language for many years. I have a Diploma In Proofreading and Editing and a Bachelor of Business Studies Degree. I have also learned several foreign languages myself so I do understand the processes involved with learning a new language.
Announcements
English is an extremely enjoyable and rewarding language to learn. It can also be challenging. However, I provide easy-to-understand instructions so that a student can get a good understanding of the English language. I like to provide lots of examples of different grammatical concepts so that students can see the way we use different words and phrases in sentences. I am a very friendly person, and I look forward to helping people improve their skills so that they can become more confident in their ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
Hobbies/Travel
I have many interests and hobbies. I really like animals. I also really enjoy music and I play the flute. I am very keen on reading, especially novels and non-fiction books about history. I also like to cook and I find baking lots of fun. I have done some overseas travel. I have been to Australia quite a few times and once I visited the Cook Islands. I am really interested in learning other languages. One of the other languages that I have studied is Japanese. I really enjoyed it. It is so good to be able to communicate with people from other countries. I am a very friendly person and I do like to talk with people and help them when they are in need.
Message from the instructor
I am a native English speaker and I have also spent time learning several foreign languages. I do understand the necessary steps that are involved with learning a language. I like to help people understand more about the English language. In order to become more confident in reading, writing, and speaking in English, it is necessary for each individual to gain a good appreciation of grammatical rules. It is also important to understand the most natural way to express thoughts and intentions in English. I will provide informative corrections to help build understanding and confidence and maximize potential and language fluency.

Dear Nicola JH sensei, Thank you very much for your correction. I learned a lot from you. That is a good news that your country has no new corona infected patient. But I think that opening the border needs a long time. Now self-restraint was lifted in Tokyo. I hope that we won't see a second wave of infections too. Please have a good night! Best wishes, Hitomi

Dear Nicola JH sensei, Thank you very much for your reviewing. I am always happy to learn method of formal writing. I am spending a nice day. Thank you! It is not compulsory to wear masks in Tokyo too. But government suggest people to wear masks and they sent two masks for each families. I think it is no problem not to wear masks if people are not so close eachother. Please take care! Best wishes, Hitomi

Dear NicolaJH, Thank you very much for your correction and answer. It was very helpful for me. For example, the expression about burden is very native correction. New Zealand is going to be winter, right ? Japan is getting warmer. Please be careful about flu and COVID-19.

Thank you for correcting my sentence. The explanation regarding the defference "a" and "the" etc. is useful for me. And, I can understand the nuance of the word throughout the concrete examples. Thank you!

Dear Nicola JH sensei, Thank you very much for your review! I really appreciate all of the work you have put into this. Yes, yesterday I told my boss that I will quit current work at the Quarantine station. He was surprised but he understood my wish. I am glad to know that New Zealand may have eliminated the virus. It is the same here in Tokyo. I hope that the second wave of the pandemic will not come. Please take care and have a good evening. Best regards, Hitomi
