Certifications
I am a native English speaker. I have taught the English language for many years. I have a Diploma In Proofreading and Editing and a Bachelor of Business Studies Degree. I have also learned several foreign languages myself so I do understand the processes involved with learning a new language.
Announcements
English is an extremely enjoyable and rewarding language to learn. It can also be challenging. However, I provide easy-to-understand instructions so that a student can get a good understanding of the English language. I like to provide lots of examples of different grammatical concepts so that students can see the way we use different words and phrases in sentences. I am a very friendly person, and I look forward to helping people improve their skills so that they can become more confident in their ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
Hobbies/Travel
I have many interests and hobbies. I really like animals. I also really enjoy music and I play the flute. I am very keen on reading, especially novels and non-fiction books about history. I also like to cook and I find baking lots of fun. I have done some overseas travel. I have been to Australia quite a few times and once I visited the Cook Islands. I am really interested in learning other languages. One of the other languages that I have studied is Japanese. I really enjoyed it. It is so good to be able to communicate with people from other countries. I am a very friendly person and I do like to talk with people and help them when they are in need.
Message from the instructor
I am a native English speaker and I have also spent time learning several foreign languages. I do understand the necessary steps that are involved with learning a language. I like to help people understand more about the English language. In order to become more confident in reading, writing, and speaking in English, it is necessary for each individual to gain a good appreciation of grammatical rules. It is also important to understand the most natural way to express thoughts and intentions in English. I will provide informative corrections to help build understanding and confidence and maximize potential and language fluency.

Dear teacher NicolaJH I'm really sorry for the delay in writing to express my thanks for you. It is one year and half ago that I asked you to correct my article about Hatsumode(means the first shrine visit for the year). Your correction for my article was very helpful for me. I was able to know my weak points in grammar. I'm looking forward to ask you a correction again soon. Best regard, piglet0530

Dear Nicola JH Thank you for giving me some advise of writing an English essay, and telling me some synonyms of “increase”. I could know about differences between American English and British English, which sometimes their spelling are different. Have a nice day too!! With my best regards, Yatt

Dear NicolaJH, Thank you again for your comments. I understand that my writing is so simple. To tell the truth, I would like to write some complicated sentences like English natives, but I can't do that. I need to expand my vocabulary to make sentences naturally. Continuous efforts through this lesson will lead me to be a good English writer. I hope to learn from you soon. Sincerely, Bearmatsu

Dear NicolaJH, Thank you for the revision. It was indeed helpful. I wanted to explain my intention in the last sentence that the picuture was burned carefully and respectfully by a monk. But I don't know in westen countries, how you guys treat this kind of thing. I really hope you're having a nice day, Midori
