Announcements
Hi everyone, I hope you all are keeping well. I will be temporarily unavailable for family reasons later this week, but be back next week and hope to hear from you then. I always enjoy you sharing your thoughts with me. Have a great positive time and stay happy and healthy. Best regards Joyce.
Hobbies/Travel
I have many hobbies, including caring for my cats and dogs, gardening, fishing and bush walking. I presently live in the far South East of South Australia in a National Park area among the kangaroos and koalas, also near the beach, where I go whale watching. I have lived in Scotland, England and Australia. I love traveling and have also been to several overseas places, including Malaysia and New Zealand. I have stayed in most Australian states and visited, the Great Barrier Reef, Cairns, Townsville, Magnetic Island, The Great Ocean Road, Sydney and Coffs Harbour, Melbourne and Adelaide. My favorite country would be Scotland, because I was born there and belong to the clan Gunn. My ancestors include the vikings and Olaf the Black especially.
Message from the instructor
I do three things when I correct a customer's text:- Firstly, I let the writer know exactly which aspects of the text were well written. Giving recognition for good skills will give the writer encouragement to keep doing the right things with their writing. Secondly, I give quality and accurate correction with clear explanations, so the writer can see what may need to be changed and why it will be more naturally English to make the changes. Thirdly, I provide the writer with examples and ideas to improve their writing in a kind and gentle manner, so they will not have hurt feelings or become discouraged in their writing, but rather be uplifted and keen to improve and grow in their understanding and knowledge of the English language. This means both simple natural alternatives and complex expressions with idiomatic sayings can be requested. Every writer is very special to me, and every piece of writing will be treated with the respect and accurate care it deserves to have. I have been helping many students, both young people still in schools as a teacher and more mature adult students at the university for over 40 years. My knowledge of accuracy in business letters and correspondence is excellent, as I have also worked in accounting for manufacturing businesses with a strong customer focus. I believe in building trust and respect between us, so I can help you to reach your full potential and achieve your best.

I really enjoyed your editing, educational advices and personal comments on the content of my composition this time, too. You and your family are loving dogs indeed. As for Rick, we have many many lovely episodes besides the above, like your dogs. The following is my additional message to all my favorite IDIY teachers including you: An old Japanese proverb says there are three types of human relationship and the strength or length differs by the types. First, parents-children relationship lasts one generation (present life only). Second, husband-wife relationship lasts two generations (previous through present life). Third, master-subordinate relationship lasts three generations (previous through future life). Education falls on the third category. The effect of meeting good teachers is strong enough to last longer than marriage relationship. A good teacher has the power to change people, society and the future. I will depart from IDIY service today but I have met several good teachers. Many thanks!

You know Oriental zodiac calender very well. My daughter is 33 now. When she first introduced her fiance to me and my wife last year, we were greatly relieved. But now, we are often talking about the forthcoming day when we will come to miss her. You have changed your profile photo. She is your youngest daughter, isn't she? You look very happy with her. I changed my avatar because Rick got his hair trimmed well yesterday.

I learnt "intriguing". To make rice cake, first you steam sticky rice and put in mortar , and then you hit it with pestle until the grain has disappeared. I never made shortbread with rice flour.
