I will never learn else where that I should say ''human race'' if I am using an article but ''humankind'' if I am not. Also I have been using ''scene'' and ''scenary'' interchangeably without any thought. ''A dozen kids'' was an interesting one. I thought dozen can be paired with ''of'' , but after you pointed out, I looked it up in the dictionary and understood that it could be paired with ''of'' if the dozen is plural, for example ''dozens of times''. In this case I was talking ablut twelve kids, so I should right ''a dozen kids''. I look forward to the next opportunity.
