Hi there! I'm Sara Rose from New York, specializing in helping learners with practical, real-life English, as well as all kinds of exam/test materials (Eiken, TOEIC/TOEFL, IELTS, etc.), cultural topics and current issues. I especially enjoy reading and explaining topics on travel, the U.S./UK, culture, news, history, music, art, fashion, and all things New York. You're welcome to send in your writing today on virtually any subject and I would gladly check and correct it for you! My proofreading focuses on natural-sounding English by using the most common, latest, or trending words/phrases/expressions, with some difficult/confusing grammar fully explained. If you are an administrative office person, a customer service rep, or a first-time international online shopper, I am here to help you write clear, courteous business email in English, especially for apparel and other general purchases. Looking forward to showing you how fun and rewarding it is to be able to communicate clearly in this universal language. Let's get started!

Teacher SaraRoseNY Thank you for corrections that are helpful to me. Thank you for your careful corrections despite the busy time of the end of this year. As I have talked the elderly, many of them have difficulty using smartphones due to small screens. Current elderly are not the internet generation, so they may feel barrier to having the digital gadget. As time goes by, when present young generation becomes senior generation, situations may be improved by more smartphone proficiency. Best regards, 5971mak

Teacher SaraRoseNY Thank you for corrections that are helpful and easy to understand to me. The hometown tax program is a unique spetial tax which invigorate local economy in Japan. Since urbanization with civilization has progressed in big cities like Tokyo and Osaka, other rural regions have failed to recover their local economy due to aging with shrinking population. Under such circumstance, a governor of Fukui prefecture, Mr.Kazumi Nishikawa invented the tax system for countryside revitalization. This tax system can run on the basis of resident's good deeds that sustains their hometown by creating original products with specialties. Thus, this system could be vulnerable to misuse of tax revenues diverted by the profit-driven shopping behemoth. Best regards, 5971mak

Teacher SaraRoseNY Thank you for corrections that are helpful to me. There are only three days left in this year, I am excited for welcoming a new year. On this January 1, I was working in the office despite a happy new year atmosphere, suddenly, my office started trembling and my smartphone rang an emergency siren to notice me big earthquake occurred in my prefecture. As I felt a long time shaking our region, I was appalled by possible serious devastation. As time went by, TV and radio broadcasted serious damage in the affected areas. My place was somewhat distant from the seisemic center, my family was not involved with damages luckily. I hope that coming new year will be peaceful. Best regards, 5971mak

Teacher SaraRoseNY Thank you for corrections that are useful to me. One of the causing misinformation regarding the image of Mt. Fuji is exaggeration of the view from afar. Due to such a picturesque wonderful image, watchers can wrongly perceive the mountain must be a peaceful place. Local authorities should give warning to those who plan to crime. Teacher SaraRoseNY Thank you for corrections that are helpful to me. I agree with the young traveling abroad more, particularly when they are flexible to notice the difference of cultures and traditions. Seeing how diverse the world is, they can be equipped with the idea of multiculturism and tolerance to those who have different beliefs. Their experiences can grow the mindset of diversity, which can contribute to make Japan a cosmopolitan country. Best regards, 5971mak

Teacher SaraRoseNY Thank you for corrections that are useful to me. In my opinion, since Toyota has a lot of patents to manufacturing hybrid engine vehicles, they will not be eager to collaborating with other brands to keep their advantages. As far as they can continue profitable operations, they will maintain sole existence for a while. However, as global warming worsens, more investment will be indispensable to invent new technology for reneuable engine cars. The amount of investment can be a huge so that even Toyota may need to belong to a corporate alliance in the future. Best regards, 5971mak

Teacher SaraRoseNY Thank you for corrections that are helpful to me. The wisdom "let it go" you mentioned is truely impressive for me. Since I am not familiar with violence in daily life, peace is one of those things we take for granted. Thus, when I face dire conditions like the Gaza conflict and Russian invasion in Ukraine, I have no idea how to solve them. However, from now on, Japan will be involed with diversification on the way to accept economic migrants. Peace is not persistent, so the Japanese government should take actions to expand the idea of multi-cultualism among residents. "let it go" can be critical to sustain Japanese society. Dear SaraRoseNY, Thank you so much for your prompt correction and warm words. I really appreciate them. The word "alleviates" is new word for me, and its specific meaning is more suitable to my writing. I didn't use "when" and "since" correctly this time, so I'll try to choose them carefully. I am writing another composition, so I will send in it in few days. Hope you have a great week. Best regards, mkawa

Teacher SaraRoseNY Thank you for corrections that are useful to me. Tourism taxes are still limited in Japan. The accommodation tax was first introduced in Tokyo in 2002, followed by Osaka Prefecture (2017), Kyoto City (2018), Kanazawa City (2019), and others. As of April 2024, tourism taxes have been introduced in three prefectures and six cities and towns. However, the Japanese government places tourism industry as essential part of local economy to provide jobs for residents. Considering the importance of creating a sustainable confition for the travel industry, local authorities expand the tax while realizing a fair share between visitors and residents.
