Interest in and experience of creative writing in English. I speak Spanish and French and have an keen interest in language learning and improvement. Through my daughter's learning of violin, initially by the Suzuki method,I have a great respect for and interest in learning by the mother tongue method. I am happy to work for IDIY and to be reading and correcting the work of Japanese speaking customers. I've worked for IDIY for 12 years and find it very interesting and rewarding. My style of correction is to pay close attention to the language in your writing in terms of grammar, vocabulary, style and content. I see each customer as having different needs in your learning journey and I take care to respond to you and your writing as the developing work of an individual. In my comments and personal message you will find that I tend to discuss in some depth with you the content of your writing and you can learn from this personalised discussion as well as from specific corrections and suggestions for alternative wording where appropriate. I do my best to encourage you in your writing with constructive help along with a rigorous and disciplined approach. Your questions, additional notes and feedback are always welcome and can be an important part of the communication between you as the customer and me as the instructor. I am happy to receive requests and develop a rapport so that you have continuity in your learning and to help you with Basic and/or Advanced corrections as well as with proof-reading. I look forward to reading your writing and to writing back to you and I hope that you enjoy IDIY as much as I do!

I enjoy language and languages and words fascinate me. I like both reading and writing and currently attend a creative writing class. I'm a keen musician and enjoy playing the piano. I also play the violin and look forward to playing more than I have done recently. There are so many things to enjoy in Edinburgh where I live. I'm happy in the city enjoying the culture and also very much enjoy being in nature and exploring places when I have time. My now 22-year-old daughter keeps me busy and though she is very independent in some ways she is still young and growing up in a complex and busy world. I'm especially interested in the arts and feel lucky to live in a city where we have easy access to rich cultural experiences including the Edinburgh Festival. I've spent time in France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Hong Kong, Norway, Canada, America, and most recently, in Poland. I enjoyed all of them and plan to keep travelling when I have the opportunity.

I very much enjoy working for IDIY and look forward to reading and helping you with your writing. I am here to help you be able to write fluently, naturally and correctly, and, perhaps above all, to communicate effectively in English what you want to say. Writing is a complex process even in one's own language. When you are writing in another language there are even more layers of complexity and it can be challenging. It can also be a lot of fun and very rewarding. As a native speaker of English I aim to share with you what is natural to me and to help and encourage you through specific corrections and adjustments and also through response to and discussion of what you are writing about in any piece you send to me through IDIY. I discuss particular aspects of your writing in detail if you ask for an Advanced correction and will give you a corrected version of your text if you ask for a Basic correction. In both cases I aim to have a sort of conversation with you across the internet and to connect with you through language so that you can absorb natural English and further develop your language skills. I aim to tune in to what your needs are and encourage you on your learning journey.

hello, Florianna. It's always nice to see you here. Thank you for the corrections you made on my essay. You wrote me messages responding to the message I wrote on the last submission. Thank you so much. The 6th sentence; Also, they might cost extra electricity until I notice it. Also, they might use extra electricity and so cost more until I notice it. I'm not sure it makes sense to you. so, I want to explain what I meant telling my story. The phone company I use has been sending me a short mail once in a while. They are advertisement mails for some products. One day I found receiving those mails cost me extra fee, so I tried to set my phone to reject them, but I couldn't. I still pay extra money for the mails that I don't want to receive. It's just a very little money, but it's really bad, isn't it? I hope to see you soon again. Best regards Yoko

Hello, florianna. It's nice to see you again here. Thank you for the extra comment, and the apology is not needed. I don't mind at all. The situation in the UK surprised me a lot. I feel sorry to hear that the pandemic caused an uneasy circumstances on your mother and daughter. I hope you will have a wonderful holiday with your loving daughter. My daughter and her husband planed to come home in the end of this year, but, we are still not sure if they will make it. We haven't seen each other for two years, so I miss them so much. My mother is 92 years old, and lives in an elderly care home at remote town. Because of the restriction of the elderly home, we have hardly seen each other since the pandemic occurred. Fortunately I met her a month ago, and we were so happy. I always think how long and how many times I can share time with her considering her age. It is a very sad situation. I hope you and your family will be away from Covid-19, and so will be my family members. Yoko ps. I am always happy to have you as my English writing teacher.

Hello, Florianna. How are you doing? Thank you for the corrections you made on my essay. I found an interesting point in the 1st sentence that you wrote. "athleticism" and "deftness" is both uncountable noun, so when they come together, they are still uncountable. therefore you wrote "is required"; you didn't write "are required" I was puzzled for a while, but eventually understood. In the 3rd sentence, you wrote "go on to live a life with new challenges". I understand what you meant to say. He doesn't have two lives, meaning that his life continues just going to a next stage. In the 4th sentence, "a more ordinary life" is, I think, a better choice than "a usual life". because, When Ayumu was an athlete, he still had an usual life as a man, and which might have been a bit of less ordinary life than a life that people have, though. ( Sorry, it's hard to tell you) In the 5th sentence, "Ayumu Goromaru who has achieved things more ordinary people can't, tend, after retiring from their sport, to be able to survive in other spheres." I don't understand this sentence, especially, why you used "more" and "their" in it. You meant to say that Ayumu is a less ordinary person? Or, Maybe just my sentence doesn't make sense to you, ( sorry, I'm trying.... but...I'm confused here again) but I like the word"spheres" on the last part, it's very interesting to me. "exalted" "with its rigours" are new expressions for me. I would like to use them sometimes. Hoping to see you soon. Yoko
