Hello, my name is Cat. I've been away from IDIY for a while, but now I'm back and I look forward to teaching you! Since I've been away, I've been a and Tutor and then a Lecturer in Creative Writing at a UK university, then I began teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages with the government. I also teach Creative writing freelance with all sorts of companies. I've come back to IDIY so I can do more work with students online. I like to teach students from all over the world and at all sorts of skill levels. I have many years' experience in both critiquing academic writing and in correcting English by foreign students. I can't wait to meet you! Cat

My corrections are very thorough and considered. I give comprehensive, detailed and accurate grammatical explanations. I have a great deal of writing experience (creative, formal, academic, technical) so I understand how best to achieve the desired tone and form of expression in any piece of writing. In the past I taught English Literature to university students, I currently teach poetry and I specialise in one-to-one mentoring and feedback; I think it's important to give each student the effort and attention they deserve, It's also important to encourage and nurture each student, to help them become the best writer they can be. You can expect my feedback to be extremely useful and very positive. I look forward to working with you.

Dear Teacher Cat90, Thank you for your hearty message! I am always moved by your messages. I have never talked long with native speakers. I think that your advices are exactly, and I am moved. I am very glad to read your massages and I will do! When Japanese request politely, we use "if", so I used "if". It is strange and unique Japanese way?! I am always grateful for your help. Best regards, Misa

I didn’t know when to use “prepare” or “cook” in making meals. “Sushi” is something to be prepared, while “tempra” is something to be cooked. Very informative. Thank you.

Thank you for your correction. Your advice is helpful particularly in two following points. The explanation about how to use different forms of present tense would be helpful for me to describe a photograph. The difference between “pass” and “pass over” is also helpful, and quite interesting! The spell error of ‘hut’ is due to my carelessness... Thanks a lot again!
