講師からお知らせ
*Vacation notice: Dear customers, I will be away on vacation from April 23 - May 10. I look forward to working with you when I return! :) はじめまして! My name is Michelle and I'm an editor based in New York, where I was also born and raised. I have professional experience in writing, editing, and website content production, primarily for nonprofits. I have always been interested in editing, teaching and coaching writers whose native language is not English. I believe my strengths as an instructor are keen attention to detail, empathy (I am currently studying Japanese, so I understand how challenging writing in another language can be!), and encouraging customers to find and improve their own unique voice in their writing. I hope that by working with me, I can help you find enjoyment and confidence in your written English skills. Thank you for visiting my profile, and for reading this far -- it would be my pleasure to work with you!
趣味・好きな国・訪問した国
My hobbies include reading, yoga, walking in nature, theater, and travel. So far my favorite countries to visit have been Iceland and Japan (especially Niigata, I love the mountains). My husband is from Japan so we visit quite frequently to see his family; I'm excited to explore more prefectures. I would also love to visit New Zealand some day.
添削へのこだわり・メッセージ
For my text correction style, I strive to preserve the writer's voice as much as possible. I will tailor my editing to your request, but as a baseline I will always ensure correct grammar and help improve understandability. I will provide detailed explanations for any grammatical changes I've suggested (with examples to make it easy for customers to remember for future cases), and I will also suggest alternative phrasings when appropriate if something else might sound more natural or clear in English.

Thank you for your feedback! It was easy to follow. You helped me learn a lot of new words and phrases: In particular, the difference between “need” and “require,” “indulgence,” and the verb “average.” E-books are easy to collect, but the problem is that they would become unavailable if the website you purchase them on closed down.

Thank you for your explanations and suggestions. I think gym habits are the same in Japan; some people are gym rats, whereas others easily lose their motivation to work out like me! I look forward to taking your lesson again.
