Hi, I am a very enthusiastic person who has a lively interest in travel. I lived in Italy for a year when I was studying, it is a beautiful country, I studied and traveled while I was there. I would highly recommend a visit to Venice, it is a very beautiful and magical place, like nowhere else I have been. There are no roads only water ways which in itself makes it different. I also have a keen interest in yoga, I go to a class every week and I really enjoy it. I love to sing in a choir, this is a very uplifting experience. I have done many things with my choir including recording three tacks at Abbey Road studios which is where the Beatles recorded many tracks! I really enjoy doing long walks in the countryside, fortunately I live very near to lots of fields and parks.

I am a very patient and supportive teacher, I love to help others learn about how the English language works. I understand grammar very well and I can explain it in detail to hopefully increase others understanding so you can improve your written English skills. I love to see people taking delight in seeing their own personal improvement.

Dear MBarney, Thank you for your heart warming words. I felt touched. Although I haven't written in this platform for quite some time you still remember me and care me... I’m so glad about your kindness. Thank you very much. I've been focused on a certain test, and gladly I passed the test. Since then, I have been a bit lazy...I guess you are also busy preparing for the end of the year, right ?Time really flies. Keep warm, Midori

Thank you for your correction. At the first sentence, I often miss out the article ‘the’ before the noun , so I'm going to pay attention not to do that. And I have never known such a use of 'after' in the alternative way you showed at the second sentence. I hope I would have an opportunity to take your correction again. Kind regards,

Dear MBarney, Thank you for the precise comments. I've never come across someone who has a custom of eating turtles. But if it's already in their culture and they have cherished it, it's very difficult to tell them to quit. Stay warm, Midori

Dear MBarney, Thank you for the corrections and your insights. I think you're right that “Daijyoubu-desu” can be translated into “ I’m fine.”I should have found a better example. I hope you had a happy weekend, Midori

Dear MBarney, Thank you for the corrections as always. Yes, in Japan, Halloween is also for childeren. My childeren are grown up with this event, so they live this day. Next month, Christmas is waiting. Another spending... However, by celebrating these countless events, we can at least feel the change of the seasons so that we really feel time is passing. Stay warm, Midori

Hello, MBarney How are you doing? Thank you for the amendments you kindly made on my essay. Also thank you for sharing the stories about the similar financial situations after retirement happening in England. In the 1st sentence, I am happy to see that you still used the same words that I had chosen when you wrote the replacements, such as uneasy, undependable, stimulate and citizen. I always try to use an unfamiliar word to help building up my vocabularies checking a English-English-dictionary and a thesaurus. I agree with the change, "has stimulated" replacing "stimulate", which makes sense to me. In the 2nd sentence, you wrote "financially I’m totally dependent on my husband." Actually, I didn't know how to use two adv. "financially" and "totally" together in one sentence, so, I used the word "finance". I think you told me that "Be dependent on.... " is more common to use than "depend on..." In the 4th one, you wrote "is just around the corner". That's the expression what I wanted to use. I tried several dictionaries, but I couldn't find it. I feel good to know it. Thank you. The last sentence, you used the present form for "refrain" and "put". I was thinking which is OK to write a to-infinitive (to refrain, to put) or a gerund (refraining, putting), as they are supposed to be object phrases in the sentence. It seems I was thinking too much.... hahaha... Hoping to see you soon. Yoko

Dear MBarney, I’m doing well, thank you. I also hope you are keeping well. I guess it's getting colder in your country, right? So be careful not to catch a cold let alone corona virus. I don't think I can experience this kind of concert in my living area, but I really hope there’ll be more creative events that will follow along the way. Have a blessed week, Midori

Dear MBarney, Thank you for the corrections and the point-out!It was all clearish!I’m sorry about the late reply as in Japan, it's a preparation time for Halloween, I've been a bit busy with it. I don't know why we are even celebrating the day as it's of another country’s event, but anyway we celebrate it, so I just follow it... Yes, it was clear that I totally misunderstood the word lol. This topic was already out of my knowledge...but thank you very much for checking the grammar as always! Have a spooky Halloween week, Midori
