Thank you very much quick review and a lot of Tips! My writing skill definetly will be sofisticated more than before !
Hi Geoff, Thank you for your explanations. Your advice lets me learn natural British English every day. I appreciate your help. I'm relieved that you have managed your weekends well and happy to hear that you can work anywhere nice. I've also sometimes worked from home because there are useful online tools such as cloud storages and Microsoft Teams. It's nice for me because I can save my time to commute and avoid packed and hot Tubes. Have a wonderful evening. Sincerely, Takeshi
Hi Geoff, Thank you for your feedback. I'm glad to hear that you know Marie Kondo. Her husband is her manager/producer, and this book is his first work :) Your feedback was very useful for me. I didn't finish the sentence of forth step by mistake but I wanted to write as your suggestion. Thank you. Have a nice day too and I hope to see you again soon! Best Regards, Yumi
Hi Geoff, Thanks for your feedback. Your explanation is easily understandable and valuable to me and helps me with my English studies. I will keep on training for working in the UK. Best regards, Taka
Hi Geoff, Thank you for your explanations. I've enjoying learning British English from you. Your advice means a lot to me. Actually, I didn't know that I have asked you 100 times! I would like to express my deepest appreciation for your help and support. I'm worried that you haven't got off on the weekends. I would be grateful if you could give me your ongoing support. Have a wonderful evening. Sincerely, Takeshi
Hi Geoff, Thank you for your swift and clear correction. I've already seen people in UK not wearing masks in public on TV, but I was surprised that doctors in hospitals don't put masks there and people need to keep on working with Covid.... Wow, as a result, it sounds that doctors make themselves busier, doesn't it? You and I are on the same page about it, even as the situation is a bit different. In this lesson, I've learned a lot from you: - be suspicious of - (to) remain vigilant - (to) create a cost-of-living squeeze - (to) re-evaluate the best way to do - (to)soothe one's woes etc. I'm always happy to enrich my expressions with you. Thank you. Stay cool ! Have a nice day! Yukiko
Thank you for your corrections and explanations. I am sorry for not describing a sentence clearly on my first sentence. I wanted to say children who experienced childhood abuse must have been grown to become patient, because they had to be always under their parents' pressure. When they become adults, they want to feel free away from their parents, and do whatever they want. When I need to submit another IDIY number, please let me know. I will resubmit new IDIY.
Hi Geoff, Thank you for your explanations. Your suggestions about rephrasing mean a lot to me. I'm delighted to learn natural expressions of British English. I appreciate it. Have a wonderful evening! Sincerely, Takeshi
Hi Geoff, Thank you for your kind lecture. In this lesson, there were so many things I've learned. I've heard about both "fronted adverbial" and "Oxford comma" for the first time. I googled "fronted adverbial" and I studied there are so many expressions. I also googled "Whole Foods Market". It looks so interesting ! I'd love to go there. I put my flag to go in Google Map in the future... Thank you! Hahaha... that video, that man...Sorry for you inspiring a lot... (^^; ) If I find something interesting, I'll share you again. Take care! My best, Yukiko
Hi Geoff, How are you doing? I'm good. Thank you for your correction. In this lesson, your explanation about a/an/the for "environment" was so simple for me to understand. I hope I can judge others correctly like "environment"too. ( That said, I'm struggling with the word "life / lives "... But I found it should depend on the meanings ! I'll find the rules ! ) In addition, thank you for telling me the meaning of "make much of ". I made a sentence again here. EX ) UK people have historically made much of afternoon tea interacting with each other. UK people have historically thought it important that afternoon tea could interact with each other. If I still misunderstand it, please tell me later. Here, the hottest days come! This week is just like a sauna outside.... To curb the pandemic, I hope more people could stay home for whatever reason now....haha Take care! My best, Yukiko
Hi Geoff, Thank you for your explanations. I’ve been enjoying learning proper British English phrases and words thanks to you. Your advice means a lot to me. I appreciate it. Have a wonderful evening! Sincerely, Takeshi
Hi Geoff, Thank you for your explanation. Your expressions and paraphrases are really useful for me to learn natural British English. I appreciate it. I enjoyed the pretty and lovely scenery of good old British countryside, and visited the place of inspiration for JRR Tolkien, best known as the author of the high fantasy works "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings". It's been a good day. I hope you also have had a wonderful Saturday. Have a wonderful evening! Sincerely, Takeshi
Hi Geoff, Thank you for checking my writing with your decent explanation. About the articles, it is so difficult to judge which applies even though I read the rules so many times. This time, for example, I could not judge well "cost" can be countable or not. Yet, I try to get used to choose correct ones step by step. Today, I've learned how to use " as + p.p." and " as+ <doing >". I could find out " as + p.p" easily on the internet, but I could not do " as + <doing>". For the moment, I understand it could be the same meaning as " when doing". If my understanding is bad, tell me it next time. Yukiko PS I find it interesting that people can hit cars when parking in Paris (France) . It is one of the greatest difference of culture! Good for you.... I don't recommend driving there by your car to you....hahaha...
Hi Geoff, Thank you for your kind reply. From this lesson, I've learned how to use the words " few ( with plural)", "to the extent that", " (always) their + plural ", " take something + adverb"...etc. They helps my study a lot. Wow! You know well Marugame !! Marugame is also a city name in the prefecture which is so-called "Udon-prefecture" in Japan. ( A real name ”Kagawa-prefecture") Many people know Kagawa is called Udon-prefecture and believe that this company is from there. However, to tell the truth, any Marugame shop has not opened yet in Marugame-city till today, and the headquarters is in Tokyo now after moving from near Kobe. ) Now I believe you know more than Japanese.... it is useless information, though... Have a nice day! Yukiko PS Let me make sure for my understanding easily... " an long, unauthorised absence " Could "an" be "a"?
Hi Geoff, Thank you for your explanations. I appreciate your kind help. It means a lot to me. I'm doing well, than you. I hope you are also doing well. Have a wonderful weekend. (I'm going to the Cotswolds tomorrow.) Sincerely, Takeshi
