講師からお知らせ
I have lived in nine different countries around the world and have travelled extensively. I have over 30 years experience of teaching English to all ages as well as all levels (beginners to advanced) in both educational and corporate settings. My background is in testing English and I have written and developed various global tests such as a placement test for young learners for British Council and Tests of English for Seafarers, Offshore workers and also Cruise Ship staff. I have also co-authored an English E-learning course for Engineers (basic level) and carried out proof reading and editing work for Maritime training organisations. I'm a fully qualified careers guidance counsellor and provide young people with guidance and motivational life coaching support.

I enjoy travelling, particularly to places off the beaten track and I’m also passionate about arts and crafts and helping to support local artists, particularly in developing countries. I'm really interested in knitting, embroidery and sashiko, a Japanese technique used to repair garments. It's an artform that has become incredibly popular in the UK. I also like to spend time doing knitwear design & upholstery. I am a keen gardener and also enjoy leisure activities such as hiking and swimming. I like football and I’m a season ticket holder for Burnley Football Club, a small club in the Premier League, so I try to attend as many home games as possible.

Hi there! I love writing and I'm looking forward to working with you! It's great to have the chance to read through your ideas and opinions about different topics and images and provide feedback on your English writing. I have a background in teaching, assessment and test development and so will have a clear understanding of your individual, English language level and ability. My aim is to help you further progress in your English writing skills by correcting, giving feedback and suggesting different ways of saying things in order to communicate effectively. Writing in another language can also be enriching; it can help clarify thoughts and emotions as well as enhance and access career opportunities.

Dear Kattay, I greatly appreciate your helpful corrections. Your explanations are very easy for me to understand. I will use the present perfect continuous when I would like to focus on an action rather than a period of time. I look forward to working with you again. Bests regards, Akane

I apologize for the late reply. I’m grateful for your excellent suggestions and clear explanations. As for the second sentence, I should have used ‘lift’ because we went in the car. I’m looking forward to taking your lesson again!
