Dear Jane2, thank you for those insights. Your mention of evacuation plans actually brought back a memory of an Australian teacher I had years ago. If my memory serves me right, they mentioned having to relocate several times during their childhood because of the fires. Given the vastness of the Australian landscape, the sheer scale and frequency of those blazes must be truly overwhelming.
