Announcements: I am a Canadian-born native English speaker now residing in Costa Rica. I have a university degree and a post-graduate certificate in G.I.S. (Geographical Information Systems) from McMaster University. I have visited many cultures for extended periods of time and teach children English in an area where there is no opportunity to practice. I understand the frustrations and excitement of learning a new language and way of thinking. My proofreading style encompasses three areas: 1) checking your English for grammatical errors and use of everyday English; 2) making sure your meaning comes across to the reader even though it is crossing both language and cultural differences; 3) offering suggestions to improve the style and construction of your composition. Hello,Desiree. How are you doing? Thank you so much as always. I enjoy to learn with you. It's funny! I used a wrong word, ' pick up.' I caught the phrasal verb in an American TV drama, and thought it meant 'choose', but it's not. If I used the phrasal verb in a real conversation, I would have been embarrassed a lot. It's interesting that you rewrote 'we're' and 'it's'. I am going to use them instead of 'we are', 'it is', and so on. See you soon again. Kind regards Yoko
