Experienced English teacher from the US, living in Japan.
Hobbies/Travel
My favorite hobbies are music, weightlifting, and studying Japanese. My favorite country is Japan, where I live, although I'm from the USA and have family and many friends there. My most interesting visit to another country (besides Japan) was to South Korea in 2011. The highlight of that vacation was visiting the DMZ border of North Korea, which was a very intense experience.
Message from the instructor
My text correction style is somewhat minimalistic, unless a "drastic change" or "formal," etc. is requested, as I do my best to preserve customers' words and ideas, and although I'm strict about grammar and punctuation, I also try to be as intuitive as possible so that my corrections don't result in failing to get the point across that they're trying to make.

Thank you always. I am really scared of insects, but I live in a rural area of Tokyo which has rich natural. So, especially in summer, I struggle with insects. Thus, I often have a nightmare about insects. That's why I jump out of bed in the midnight.

Thank you always. I watched only "Ring" when I was a child. And it was traumatic, so I haven't watched Japanese horror movies after that. Recently, I enjoyed American horror movies, like "Conjuring" series. I enjoyed them not as horror movies, but as action movies against demons. Anyway, I didn't watch but "Ring" "Rasen" and "Dark Water" are very famonus Japanese horror movies.

Dear Tom, Thank you for your collections. From ancient era, people died because of wars, natural disasters and crimes. So, I mean not only recent earthquakes and wars. Anyway, your collections and teaching are always useful. Thank you.

Dear Tom-san Thank you for your review. It is easy for me to understand, especially the explanation about the usage of comma before “because.” I’ll be careful about it in next time. I’m looking forward to meet with you soon, and keep making an effort to hit 1000! Best Regards, Tucker

Dear Tomverlaine Than you for giving me such a interesting message. I understood the reason that you could expand the image from that footage, when I read the last sentence where you play guitar and bass. I am looking forward to studying with you. Best reagrds eigo0615

Thank you so much for your corrections and explanations! I learned the word 'commodity.' It's countable and includes food and other utilities. Now it's autumn in Japan, and it has been cool. It's the best time to use the Disney jacket :) Best regards.

Dear Tom, Thank you for renovating my manuscript to a natural expression. People sometimes ask me for directions on campus but I was not able to answer fluently. So, your feedback was very helpful to me. When I am asked next time, I will be able to answer better than before. You are correct. I live in Santa Cruz, which is near SF. Santa Cruz is a local town but rich in nature. I can enjoy a comfortable climate under the blue sky so I recommend you to come here for your vacation when you have time! Anyway, thank you again for your kind feedback. Best regards,
