Announcements
Hello, my name is Tama, I'm from England and I am pleased to meet you. I love teaching because I am always learning from my students...every day I learn more and more about Japan! My other passion is travel, I love to explore new places, see new things, meet new people and try new food. I haven't made it to Japan yet, but I hope to soon. :-) As well as English I also speak Spanish and Haitian Creole fluently, and I have been teaching language skills to all levels of students since 2006. I can't wait to meet you!
Hobbies/Travel
I love to travel, to meet new people, learn about new cultures, try new foods. I spend my time between the Dominican Republic - I love the warmth of sun, and the beautiful beaches, and England - I love the beautiful green countryside and the history you can find in nearly every town and city.

Thank you Tama-sensei. Your comments are really helpful to improve my English skills. I took a basic mistakes in this task. Verb without 's' was one thing. I used 'single' with 'the' because we could say 'the rich' instead of saying 'rich people'. However, in this case, I understood we can not use 'the single' for 'single people'.

Dear Teacher Tama, I was using the words, "wish" and "hope" in the same manner without realizing that they have different meanings. Thank you very much for your explanation. Best regards, KTP

Thank you for praising my essay and detailed explanations. I really appreciate it! That extremely encourages me! I'll write more essays, even though I am poor for using English now. Actually It is so hard to write essays in English. But I would like to be a good English speaker! Writing and speaking may be slightly different, but for improving my English, I utilize this e-learning. I am looking forward to working with you!

Dear Teacher Tama, Thank you for rewording my sixth sentence. You changed my sentence exactly the way I wanted it to mean. By the way, in my previous message to you about Whaling, I used 1,000 AD again. It should have been AD 1,000 as you taught me. I am sorry. Best regards, KTP

Dear Teacher Tama, Thank you very much for explaining in details. I used the word, "whiskers of whales" because that is what we call it in Japanese. I researched it after reading your comment, then I found out that they are not whiskers, but rather filters for food, and they are white and elastic. They were used to make bows for violins and other things before plastic came out. As for the whaling map, it was found in a ruin which dates back to the Yayoi Period (1,000BC, not 1,000AD). Although 15,000 years ago seems unbelievable, that is called the Jyomon Period, and whale bones were found. I am not sure the above are all correct information. I got them from Wikipedia. Just for your information. Regards, Ms. KTP/Used to be KTP2017

Dear Teacher Tama, I've never heard of "The Right Honourable" .Thank you for teaching me that. I'm reading "Prince and Pauper" by Mark Twain right now. I has been quite a challenge because of English usage particular in the UK and its old English. I really appreciate thy thorough explanations:-) Best regards, Kiyomi

Thank you, Teacher Tama for your detailed explanations for my mistakes. I am enjoying my new daily routine of writing. Topics have been interesting, and aiming at total of 100words every time is a good practice for me. My immediate goal is to be able to write short pieces clearly and logically without major mistakes. Having a good structure and effective word choice are the next goal. Eventually I want to to be able to entertain or inspire readers with new perspective or information for longer pieces. I appreciate your help!
