Announcements
Hello :) I'm Stu and I'm happy to teach you English! If you are looking for help with Business English, Conversational English, Academic Writing or General Skill, I can help. I have been a professional English teacher for 3 years now and love my job! I live in Vancouver, Canada although I was born in the UK. I can speak both American and British English, so if you have a question about the differences, don't hesitate to ask. Thank you for visiting my profile and I hope to talk to you soon. Best Stu
Hobbies/Travel
My hobbies are martial arts, playing video games, watching movies and writing stories. I live in Vancouver, Canada and I'm thirty-three years old. I've visited Japan a few times and my favorite place is Arashiyama. I was very lucky a few years ago and got to spend some time traveling while I was working. This allowed me to live in a few different countries, such as Spain, England, France, The Netherlands, Germany and even Japan.
Message from the instructor
I try to explain the rules of English using normal words, so that it's easier to understand. I know that there are so many rules to remember, but it's my hope that if we work on understanding why the rules exist, it will be easier to remember them and use them when speaking English. Please let me know if I can improve in some way. I would definitely appreciate your feedback.

Dear Mr, Stu, Thank you for the correction and explanation. I can understand that the words "the place" and "where" are same meaning and it is better for me to drop "where". I will keep in mind. I am glad to hear you have also been to Anne Frank's House. I will send you next sentences. Have a nice day:)

Thank you, Teacher_Stu, In Japanese Education, we were taught about "Matching Tense". I now understand from your explanation that this would apply, but not always. It depends on what we tell. As the word of "Matching Tense" has impressed me strong, I have always wondered if my phrase using mixed tense is correct or not. At present, I am clear. Thanks OneOkRock

Thank you for your quick response. However, you misunderstand the last sentence. I can not get points automatically if I open the application. The staff needs to scan the bar cord of the application.
