Certifications
I am a native English speaker. I have taught the English language for many years. I have a Diploma In Proofreading and Editing and a Bachelor of Business Studies Degree. I have also learned several foreign languages myself so I do understand the processes involved with learning a new language.
Announcements
English is an extremely enjoyable and rewarding language to learn. It can also be challenging. However, I provide easy-to-understand instructions so that a student can get a good understanding of the English language. I like to provide lots of examples of different grammatical concepts so that students can see the way we use different words and phrases in sentences. I am a very friendly person, and I look forward to helping people improve their skills so that they can become more confident in their ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
Hobbies/Travel
I have many interests and hobbies. I really like animals. I also really enjoy music and I play the flute. I am very keen on reading, especially novels and non-fiction books about history. I also like to cook and I find baking lots of fun. I have done some overseas travel. I have been to Australia quite a few times and once I visited the Cook Islands. I am really interested in learning other languages. One of the other languages that I have studied is Japanese. I really enjoyed it. It is so good to be able to communicate with people from other countries. I am a very friendly person and I do like to talk with people and help them when they are in need.
Message from the instructor
I am a native English speaker and I have also spent time learning several foreign languages. I do understand the necessary steps that are involved with learning a language. I like to help people understand more about the English language. In order to become more confident in reading, writing, and speaking in English, it is necessary for each individual to gain a good appreciation of grammatical rules. It is also important to understand the most natural way to express thoughts and intentions in English. I will provide informative corrections to help build understanding and confidence and maximize potential and language fluency.

Dear NicolaJH, Hello again, The sentences you wrote me were wonderful! I really like them. You changed the order of the clauses and added new words and precisely describe what I meant to say. Beautiful works! Thank you. In the comment you wrote "Your text was very clear in meaning and easy to understand." That's great, that's the goal of my English study. We have an autumn festival in my town. It's a good opportunity to have a fun chatting with people who live in the same neighborhood. Notably, elderly people look so happy. Maybe, that's what a festival is for. Take care and see you next time. Yoko

Hello, NicolaJH, How are you? You checked my writing and pointed out the mistakes, Thank you. My mother, she is 92, can't remember things. This morning she called me to ask if I had called her a minute ago as she couldn't answer it. Half an hour later, I called her and asked if the caller called her again. She didn't remember anything about that. Doctor said that she doesn't suffer Alzheimer's disease, just has an aging problem which isn't curable. I feel sad. Sorry to write such a sad story. I want to tell it to ease my feeling. Take care and see you next time. Bye for now. Yoko
