Announcements
I have been in the UK since April 2024. My father died at the end of May, and I am now caring for my elderly mother. I would like to do some work, but I cannot always respond to requests in a timely manner. I would like to accept requests on the understanding that I cannot always deliver promptly (but I will certainly deliver within the deadline). I hope this is acceptable. Thank you for your kind understanding. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***Please note that I may not be available at weekends or now and again when my eyes are fatigued and need a rest. I apologise to my lovely customers for any inconvenience.*** ***Please note that if an order comes in the evening, I will usually deliver it the next day. I try to rest my eyes and exercise from around 6 pm, Tokyo time.*** -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------How can I help you? I'm based in Thailand, which is 2 hours behind JST. I'm usually available most days except weekends and holidays. I'm a British writer, editor and proofreader with a BA in English literature and over 10 years' experience in professional writing and editing for beginner level, advanced level, exam preparation and other purposes. I specialise in non-native English speakers' work, and I'm delighted to assist you with your work, whether it is website content, a scientific paper, an email for work, a speech, a job application, a university assignment, English for the office, English for personal development or any other type of text. I write and edit British and American English, so feel free to request either. If you don't request any particular style, I'll keep your text consistent with whichever version of English it appears to be. Please feel free to give further details on the editing style you prefer, formal or casual, and rest assured that your text is confidential. I promise to deliver prompt, professional and perfect work, and I'm happy to work with you to answer your questions and ensure your satisfaction with the edit.
Hobbies/Travel
Above all, I love reading (mostly novels and prize-winning literature), running, going swimming or paddling around in the sea, eating delicious food, learning Thai, watching movies, listening to music and singing and playing the guitar to myself (because I'm shy). I love anywhere where I can see the sea. The countries I liked visiting the most are Australia, India, Thailand and Hong Kong. My favourite places in the UK are Devon and Cornwall because of the beautiful natural scenery and beaches. I haven't been to Japan but would love to visit in the future and experience the fresh seafood, cherry blossoms and onsen. The Mediterranean is also on my list for food, drink and beautiful scenery.
Message from the instructor
I would like to keep the text as close to your meaning as possible whilst making it perfectly expressed, natural, fluent English. I will gently inform you as to why I have made each change. I will also give you suggestions for alternative phrases. I am a British content writer and copy-editor with over 10 years' experience in writing and editing. I write and edit American English, too, if preferred. I also taught English to non-native speakers for over 10 years. I love English and would like to help you to express yourself in perfect English and build your confidence.

Hello Teacher Janey. Thank you for your checking. Yes, you are right. As we are more health conscious, we tend to avoid the instant noodles. However, the tom yam flavour and the minced pork flavour sound delicious. Thank you for your worrying about my arms and the typhoon. Tokyo where I live in was safe. I hope you have a nice weekend too. Regards, Yasu

Hello Teacher Janey. Thank you for your correcting. It has been really terrible rain, but Tokyo where I live in was safe. There are a lot of dead people and still missing. I was very attracted to live in Thailand by your comments. However, let’s both be careful wherever we live in. Yasu

Dear Janey Thank you again for correcting my writings. In japan, if we won the first prize, we could get over 3billion yen as a winning money. Although,I heard it’s only chance one-tenth of a million. But if I didn’t buy some lottery,I could not get it forever actually.I sometime buy it to want to see a transient dream. How about janey? And if I were to happen to win the lottery,I would never say. Sincerity Tsukko

Dear Janey Thank you very much for correcting my text. I’m very interested in Uk and Thailand eating in public manners respectable. I wonder what smelling foods?is storing.I would think it’s fried snacks such as humbergers or fried potatoes. Certainly, they might emit a storing smell. I’ve never eaten a durian yet, but heard it is very stink. Although,it’s delicious, isn’t it? If I have a chance to eat,I would like to try it. According to your advice,I’m going to learn English from news, and repeat the useful phrases that I heard. I also look forward to reading my text soon. Sinselely yours Tsukko

Dear Janey, Thank you for your correction and thoughtful message! Fortunately, the terrible boss and her minions were forced to leave the school by the school managers a few years ago. At that time, I learned that bullying is not only students' problem, but school's or could be parents' problem. I hear that the school is peaceful now with the replacement who is kind and intelligent. Thank you for your advise! I will watch dramas in English constantly. I always rely on Japanese subtitles and forget to listen their lines. However, I won't make excuses anymore. Again, thank you very much for your help! Best regards, Ayako Nara

Dear Janey, Thanks for revising my essay. Your explanation was very helpful. Main takeaways this time were the use of the word "flip" and wrong use of the word "eventually." I didn't know that we can use the word "flip" when describing traffic accidents. Further, I learned the sense of "eventually" that it express the consequence of some process or progress, and usually it takes time. It's hard to acquire the precise sense of words, but I will keep going. Thank you so much, and I hope you would correct my next one again!! Best, Keigo
