Announcements
Hello :) I'm Stu and I'm happy to teach you English! If you are looking for help with Business English, Conversational English, Academic Writing or General Skill, I can help. I have been a professional English teacher for 3 years now and love my job! I live in Vancouver, Canada although I was born in the UK. I can speak both American and British English, so if you have a question about the differences, don't hesitate to ask. Thank you for visiting my profile and I hope to talk to you soon. Best Stu
Hobbies/Travel
My hobbies are martial arts, playing video games, watching movies and writing stories. I live in Vancouver, Canada and I'm thirty-three years old. I've visited Japan a few times and my favorite place is Arashiyama. I was very lucky a few years ago and got to spend some time traveling while I was working. This allowed me to live in a few different countries, such as Spain, England, France, The Netherlands, Germany and even Japan.
Message from the instructor
I try to explain the rules of English using normal words, so that it's easier to understand. I know that there are so many rules to remember, but it's my hope that if we work on understanding why the rules exist, it will be easier to remember them and use them when speaking English. Please let me know if I can improve in some way. I would definitely appreciate your feedback.

Dear Stu, Thank you for the corrections and advices. > Self-development, > inner dialogue I think those should be the expressions I was seeking. I really thought how to describe what I image about brain and mind. I will use them in the next opportunity. Thank you very much and have a wonderful day! Best regards, Asouka

Dear Stu, Thank you for your prompt reply. Actually, this is the first time to aapoint a native teacher. I wanted to know whether my sentences were unnatural or not. It is good to know that there are some mistakes in grammer and words. I want to keep trying to improve my English!

Thank you very much for your detailed explanation. I really understand that nuance is very difficult to explain. I find your explanarion very helpful because native English teachers like you explain grammer from a different perspective than Japanese teachers. Thank you and have a nice day!

Thank you very much for your clear advice. Come to think of it, I usually change shoes into comfortable ones at the office (It's very common in Japan). So I wanted to say about the shoes "to go to the office." In that sense, "sneakers to go to the office" sounds better, right? Have a nice day!
