Announcements
I am a Canadian-born native English speaker now residing in Costa Rica. I have a university degree and a post-graduate certificate in G.I.S. (Geographical Information Systems) from McMaster University. I have visited many cultures for extended periods of time and teach children English in an area where there is no opportunity to practice. I understand the frustrations and excitement of learning a new language and way of thinking. My proofreading style encompasses three areas: 1) checking your English for grammatical errors and use of everyday English; 2) making sure your meaning comes across to the reader even though it is crossing both language and cultural differences; 3) offering suggestions to improve the style and construction of your composition. I enjoy working for IDIY and their clients because I enjoy teaching while at the same time it gives me the opportunity to learn about the Japanese culture.
Hobbies/Travel
My hobbies include breeding and photographing horses, horseback riding, making cheese and gardening. My favorite countries are Canada, Costa Rica, and Indonesia. I have also visited the Solomon Islands, the Dominican Republic, Curacao, England, Spain, Italy, Fiji, and the U.S.A.

Hello, Desiree. Don't say sorry. It was a huge trouble you got in! So sorry. I know how bad it is, and I can hardly spend a day, or even an hour without the access of internet. OK, I'm gonna try to use contractions in my essay. I need to learn English writing in casual way first. Thank you for the advice. I'm always happy having you as an ESL teacher. See you. Yoko

Hello , Desiree. Your nice comment flattered me a lot. Recently we can't go abroad. I have not travelled other countries for ages, so I feel I can't speak English as well as before, like said "Use it, or lose it" But you mentioned my progress of English writing. That encourages me to study. I appreciate it. I always enjoy studying with you. Have a good one. See you. Yoko

Dear Desiree "it is more natural in English to use an adjective rather than the phrase starting with 'of'." Thank you for this good advice. I will try. I always appreciate for your detailed corrections and advice. Stay safe and healthy Yoko

Hello Desiree Sorry, you've got a cold in such circumstance.... People are sensitive about being healthy or not. We stupidly try not to cough in public, even when we just feel uncomfortable on throat. Thank you so much for the corrections and the nice message. I'm flattered. Stay warm and take lot of water. I hope you get better soon. Yoko
