Announcements
I am passionate about good communication. I have a bachelor's degree in English. My experience and knowledge in English includes English for business, science, law, and many other subjects that have their own particular terminology and jargon. I am familiar with all essay styles and types.
Hobbies/Travel
I love gardening. I grow just about everything from vegetables to flowers. I even grow trees. When I am not gardening, I take the opportunity to go hiking along interesting mountain trails. I also love forest trails. When it comes to visiting other countries, obviously I love the most naturally beautiful places in the world. However, I am also intrigued by ancient ruins and love to experience the essence of a country's culture. Perhaps I was an archaeologist in a former life.
Message from the instructor
I have a bachelor's degree in English and easily pick out grammatical errors and unnatural expressions. My experience and knowledge in English includes English for business, science, law and many other subjects that have their own terminology and jargon means that I have an extensive vocabulary in these fields. I am also familiar with the level of formality required in these areas. I am familiar with essay styles and types of every manner. I am, therefore, immediately able to identify wording and writing styles that do not meet the criteria of these curricula or writing styles and correct them to adhere to these expectations. I love to give examples with a substantial amount of explanation regarding the use of appropriate words and sentence structure. I also like to distinguish between perceived possibilities very thoroughly. Formal and informal language can often sound very similar. Sometimes the informal language can sound more natural simply because it is used more often in casual conversations. This is also something that, as a native speaker and because of my background, I can identify and correct easily.

Dear TeacherM, Thank you for your careful proofreading. While none of the errors completely changed the meaning of the text, there were several minor mistakes, so I realized I need to be more careful. Seeing the corrections you made, I understood that simply changing an article can sometimes make the meaning clearer. I would appreciate your proofreading again. Best regards, Ton-chan

Dear TeacherM, Thank you so much for your meticulous proofreading down to the smallest detail. When English learners write emails in English, they often focus so much on translating from their native language that they forget to include information they would naturally include when writing in their native language. The content that learners find difficult to include in emails is often not crucial information, but rather elements that make the message clearer or give the recipient a more polite impression. Your corrections not only fill in these gaps that learners struggle to include, but also show how to express them using refined phrasing, making them extremely helpful. I am looking forward to reading your comments again. Best regards, Ton-chan

Dear TeacherM, Thank you so much for your very thorough corrections. When English learners like me write emails, they often end up as a mere list of information points, lacking smooth transitions between sentences. However, the sentences you added made the flow between sentences smoother and refined my email into polished writing—it was very helpful! I would definitely like to request your corrections again. Thank you again for your help. Sincerely, Ton-chan
