Announcements
Hello, my name is Pat, I'm from London and I am looking forward to meeting you. I am a university lecturer in English as a foreign language, a qualified proofreader, and have experience of teaching in Japan. Not only that, I am super friendly and helpful and would love to help you polish your English. I am available Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Hope to see your online!
Hobbies/Travel
I have four major hobbies at the moment: walking my dog Xander in the forest and meeting other dogs (and their owners); learning about cooking styles from all over the world; playing tennis; and reading. I recently read Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi -- it was super! There are so many amazing countries, but I guess I have to say the UK is my favourite. Why? Because I think it is proving itself a success in terms of multiculturalism. On my street, there are people from the UK, Italy, Germany, Turkey, China, Poland, Jamaica and Australia, and we all get along. I have lived and worked in a variety of international cities, including Singapore, Taipei and Tokyo, which was a great experience. More recently, I had the chance to visit Kyoto, which I never did when I lived in Japan. It was absolutely beautiful, and I have put some cherry trees in my garden to recreate the atmosphere here in London!
Message from the instructor
I would be delighted to help you deliver texts that are grammatically correct, clear in meaning and natural as well as explain how English works for your future writing. I am a teacher of English as a foreign language at university in London and am very familiar with the kind of problems that Japanese (and other international) students encounter and how to give accurate and helpful guidance. As a language learner myself, I am also aware of the importance of positivity and encouragement for motivation, and that is what I will deliver! I am available every day and will return your texts in good time.
