Just like in the UK, in Japan we have to go to the bank where we hold an account in order to withdraw our money in new banknotes or to exchange money into different denominations. Therefore, I should use “the bank”, not “a bank”. Also, that service is available only on weekdays. My wife works on weekdays. I work on weekdays too, but I work from home and the working hours are flexible: that was why I went to the bank in her place. I’ve learned a lot! I’m looking forward to taking your lesson again.
