Announcements
I am an English native speaker, having resided in England, New Zealand, and Hong Kong, and currently in Canada. For over four years, I have been teaching English to clients and their children in different settings. I conducted a wide variety of English classes: general English, conversational English, grammar focus, general business English, English for nursing, IELTS exam preparation, and the English part of the Russian Unified Exam (EGE) preparation. With young children, I held other classes in which English is the target language, such as science, drama, musical, cooking, and game sessions.  Apart from academic knowledge, I possess diverse real-life experience in the application of the language, as in report writing, formal correspondence, drafting letters, creative composition, and establishing game manuals for board games. In addition, I have worked in engineering, aviation, and administration. Currently, I am in an advanced manufacturing program and self-studying computer programming. Therefore, I am highly familiar with technical terminologies in multiple professional fields.  My strengths are multi-faceted. From my engineering background, I have a keen eye on details, which allows me to catch errors and inconsistencies in a piece of language; I possess a strong analytical mindset, which allows me to analyze issues in one's work in a holistic manner. From my aviation background, I can respond calmly and quickly to any irregular circumstances, which empowers me to respond to any of my clients' queries timely and accurately; I am used to handling immense stress with tight time constraints in air traffic control, which empowers me to meet deadlines in times of high workload. From my teaching career, my communication and customer service skills have been further refined; furthermore, my levels of patience and active listening skills have been heightened.  I am multilingual. Apart from English, I understand Japanese, Russian, Cantonese, a little German, and Ukrainian. In fact, I even used to be a Russian teacher. As seen, I am also a passionate and motivated language learner like you. I fully comprehend your joy, hardship, and sometimes frustration experienced during the learning process. We will walk through the learning process, overcome any difficulties, and make great strides together!

Message from the instructor
Due to my previous career in formal and professional capacities, I tend to use English in a more formal fashion, especially in writing. As a result, at times, I will be able to supply you with alternatives or better versions of certain key words or phrases in a more professional or sophisticated tone. However, I am very aware of my style, and I will clearly indicate that these alternatives are advisory in nature in my explanation. I am very open-minded, and I accept any logical and grammatically correct expressions. I am able to draw a distinction between what is necessary and what is advisory. As per IDIY policy, clients are not supposed to write Japanese in their work and questions. Since I know the Japanese language, I am aware of its language patterns, structures, and differences from English. I will be able to more easily understand why a mistake is committed, thereby offering valuable insights by comparing the two languages in parallel.
